If you're taking an airline here, you'll be arriving at Austin-Bergstrom
International Airport. This is the airport that's where Bergstrom Air
Force Base used to be and replaces Robert Mueller Municipal Airport, which
was right in the middle of town (driving on I-35 not far from downtown
you used to be almost able to read the GOODYEAR on the landing gear as
the planes came in to land...). The link above should give you information
on airlines and flights. To the best of my knowledge there are no strikes
looming this year (rather, none that should hit Con weekend)...
If you're driving here, the alphanumerics "I-35" (I thought 35 was
under "N"...) probably figure prominently. The interstate runs from San
Antonio through Austin to Dallas/Fort Worth (both of them -- it splits
in two at Gatesville and rejoins at Denton) and points north (including,
oddly enough, Minneapolis/St. Paul, where it splits again -- and where
next year's Con will be held). If you're coming from one of those points
north, the Fort Worth leg (I-35W) is the shorter one. From Houston you'll
be taking U.S. 290. If you're not taking either of those -- well, I'm not
altogether sure.
