(NOTE: We're waiting for final details from Big Al. At this point it sounds as if folks who want to go tubbing, including those who can provide vehicular transport, should gather in the hotel lobby around 8:30 or so to figure out who's riding with whom. If this falls through, the hotel evidently has a hot tub, too...)

Typically, groups of various sizes go off on assorted adventures as whims and transport can be arranged. Check in at 'Con central (aka Rose's room) sometime around mid-morning to see what's going on.

Afternoon and early evening

The Great Outdoors

      We've come all the way to the Rockies - let's take some time to enjoy it! Game plan: Choose up vehicles, grab some portable food and drive ... somewhere ... for hiking, picnicking and possible star-gazing. Bring water, sunscreen and a sweater or jacket if we stay after dark!

Other adventures as the mood arises

Roving large- and small-group gatherings at the hotel, including, for instance:

• Gaming

• Conversation & hilarity

Plus possible night-clubbing excursions for those who care to indulge

• Shop for groceries, libations, etc. for tonight's festivities
• Other adventures as needed
• Volunteer cooks gather any time after 10 a.m. at der Fleidermaus's estate

The Big Party, followed by Rocky Horror Picture Show excursion

Bring your musical instruments, puns, tall tales, etc., plus your favorite libation and, if possible, food to share (or be prepared to chip in to the food fund).

Food & Drink:

Our gracious host has offered to provide assorted soft drinks, meat, salad and chips. Confucious has offered to man the grill and provide burgers. Other side dishes, desserts (lots of desserts!), etc. are more than welcomed, as is help with setup and (especially) cleanup. Alcohol is BYOB, and please keep track of your own consumption. Designated drivers are always appreciated!

Shopping::

There is a decent farmers market right here in Arvada which starts at 7:am.

There is an absolutly fabulous German bakery in town which is only open till noon though I believe.on Sat.

The best place for spirits and libations is at Applejack Liquors. On I-70 and exit 264.

Fun & entertainment:

Music, live or otherwise, is always welcomed. One and possible two computers may be available for instant #c and a.c. communication purposes, but the host asks that we keep food and beverages out of the computer room.

Misc.

DF: We have multiple cats and two dogs just to let all those be warned. The smoking area will be OUTSIDE, due to allergies. We have Sattelite tv of 2 flavors. One maybe two computers for use(though the DSL will probably not be available in time....(Drat) ) and other assorted lounging activities. That should take care of most things. (Our gracious host has hinted that folx who don't go to Rocky should plan to call it a night about 2:30-3 am-ish)

Directions from Die Fleidermaus:

Go west on I-70 to Wadsworth.

Get off on the Wadworth exit and take the right hand exit which will be about one 1/2 a mile after you get off I-70.

Immedietly get to the left hand lane and get into the laft hand turn lane very quickly after that.which will be the first light after getting onto Wadsworth.

You will want to be in the far left lane for turning. You will be turning left on 52nd.

Stay in the left hand lane on 52nd and go through the first light as you go down 52nd.

Take a left at the next light (Carr)

Go about one long block through one intersection and the house will be on the right side.

Parking:

Go just past the house and park in the Exempla Child Care parking lot which is on the left.

The Long Goodbyes

As people get ready to depart, we will no doubt linger in the hotel lobby, talking, hugging and taking last-minute pictures until forced to tear ourselves away ... and start making plans for Toronto in 2000!

Invariably, a few folx stay an extra day or two. Find them and have fun!
